Today I bring you a cover I have been requested to perform for many years. Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. This song has been quite the journey, I really like to research the history and thought that goes into songs I cover so I can be greater invested.
Sadly I had to put this pieces aside for a few days as my Dad passed away, but as those days passed with him I felt more and more drawn to the song. It had proved to be my savior this week and has helped me work through my emotions.
It is always important to me try and record and video the entire piece in one take, it's not always so easy on your own BUT I feel I truly succeeded with this piece. I didn't want it to feel heavily religious, morbid and distressing but I do believe each verse stands in it's own light and will relate with someone xx
