What is Hastelloy X per AMS 5588?

AMS 5588 is a specification for Hastelloy X, or in generic form, Alloy X. The UNS designation is
N06002.
Nominal composition is 47.5% Ni, 22% Cr, 1.5% Co, 9% Mo, .60% W, and 18.5% Fe
Typical applications are for parts requiring oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 2200 deg
F and parts that require relatively high strength up to 1500 deg F.
Material produced to this specification is in the form of welded and drawn tubing.
Material is supplied in the solution annealed condition.
