Cross Examination | Accident Reconstruction Expert | Mich V Warren - Chad Wolf Case Part 2

Neil Rockind, a Michigan criminal defense lawyer, defended Charles Warren in a high profile vehicular homicide case in which Warren was accused of causing the death of Michigan State Police Trooper Chad Wolf in a motor vehicle accident. Warren was acquitted by a jury after a lengthy trial. Sgt Chad Lidstrom was the state's accident reconstruction expert. This is Part 2 of my cross examination of Sgt. Lidstrom.

The case and trial were highly publicized and it was live-streamed in the news and online. By way of background ... Warren was charged with Reckless Driving Causing Death and Leaving the Scene of An Accident Causing Death. On the morning of the accident, Warren was pulling a trailer while Wolf was driving his police motorcycle. Warren's trailer and Wolf's motorcycle collided. Wolf was dragged on the highway for approximately 3 miles and died as a result of the incident.

The case centered on the cause of the accident. Cross examining an expert in a particular field of forensic science can be difficult and requires the attorney to become expert in the subject matter and to maintain control while cross examining the witness. Here is Part 1 of how I did it here ...

Rockind is a proponent of "Killer Cross Examination" and has written extensively on the subject.
