Former Botswana president, Ian Khama speaks on apparent witch hunt against him
Botswana's former president, Ian Khama, has written to several heads of state and governments in the Southern African Development Community region, as well as the United Nations Human Rights Commission, about an apparent witch hunt against him. He claims the state is violating his human rights by continuously linking him to false criminal claims. Tensions in Botswana have escalated after rumours surfaced that Khama was about to be arrested. The country's Directorate of Intelligence has been monitoring Khama after a robbery suspect was linked to one of his personal bodyguards. It's also been claimed that the gun used in the robbery belonged to the former head of state. Khama denies any connection with the wanted criminal. SABC News International Editor, Sophie Mokoena, speaks to Khama.
