Ian Khama summoned to appear before a court in Gaborone today
Former Botswana president Ian Khama has been summoned to appear before a court in Gaborone today. He and four others, including a former intelligence chief and a suspended police chief, face a total of 38 charges. These range from receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of firearms, to registering firearms under false pretences. If convicted, Khama could face up to 10 years in prison. Khama has been living in self-imposed exile in South Africa since November last year.
