The Late Roman Army, Barbarians, & the Frontier
BARBARIANS! If there's one thing everyone knows about Ancient Rome, it's that it fell and that the barbarians had something to do with it. These people existed on the other side of the Roman frontier, but, contrary to what you may see in popular renditions of Rome, the relationship between the Roman Empire and the barbarians was extremely complex, and at the heart of those relations was the Late Roman Army.
