My Oxford Lecture on ‘Decolonizing Academics’
Despite all attempts by some sepoys to prevent me from exposing Oxford’s continuing role in colonialism, I had this amazing evening of my talk followed by Q&A.
I explained how colonialism in academics has morphed and evolved through at least five stages after India’s political independence.
The burden is now being largely carried by brown-skinned sepoys working for their Western masters.
Oxford continues to honor men like William Jones and Cecil Rhodes.
Before decolonizing, one must understand colonialism, starting with the colonization of Ireland by England many centuries prior to the parallel English encounters in India and North America (both early 1600s). The relationships among these three sites of colonialism have yet to be properly studied.
The Postcolonial Studies enterprise and its offshoots Subaltern Studies, Postmodernism and recently Neo-Colonialism are in many ways more insidious than earlier forms, because these new forms are successfully masquerading using Indian/Hindu sepoys as their agents.
Many concrete proposals were discussed for the way forward.
A very lively and enthusiastic Q&A culminated the evening.
We decided to form INFINITY FOUNDATION BRITAIN and follow up on numerous concrete opportunities that have opened up.
