The year 1802 was a challenging year for Ludwig van Beethoven, pianist Maksim Štšura of Duo Foyle-Stsura Duo tells us in this video. The composer was getting deaf and this brought with it a lot of anxiety. Beethoven writes about this in his 'Heiligenstadt Testament. But there was not a question about his art, he just had to go on composing. The new album of violinist Michael Foyle and pianist Maksim Štšura is the second volume in the complete Sonatas for Piano and Violin!
