Do I have to leave Malaysia? How to do visa extension during RMCO – Extending short term social visit pass in Malaysia

Today, the RMCO starts in Malaysia. After MCO and CMCO (Movement control order and conditional movement control order) we now have the recovery movement control order which is supposed to be the last phase in order to stop the virus from spreading around. This phase is going until August 31st.

Like many other tourists in Malaysia, I was also wondering what does this extension of the MCO to the RMCO mean for my visa, which is officially called short term social visit pass. This visa in Malaysia got me 90 days free stay in the country.

These 90 days were over a few days ago, so I was really concerned about the visa extension during RMCO. I still feel that I would like to travel Malaysia more, make more Malaysia vlogs and more travel vlogs from all around Malaysia. And I also really enjoy staying here, I am very happy in Malaysia.

So, I went to Putrajaya immigration, which is the HQ for Malaysia immigration a bit south of Kuala Lumpur and was hoping to be able to extend my short term social pass there. If I was able to do so and what’s the process about going there is what you will find out in this video.
