What is traditional Indonesian Food? Do Indonesians eat vegetarian food? What does Kampung Baru look like at night?

To find out the above we ventured out into Kampung Baru to try some Indonesian recommendations, at a restaurant called Rose’s, but little did we know we would stumble a restaurant where none of the staff spoke the English language… Why? Because they were Indonesian.

When it looked like the hope of eating dinner had been dashed, in our moment of darkness, a hero emerged…

A man who took our order and explained every dish, who was he? Who sent him? Why was he the only man in the restaurant that could communicate with us? How was every dish less than £1?! What was this sorcery!?

Join us as we take a trip into Kampung Baru at night to taste some of the cheapest vegetarian meals we have ever eaten.
