HONG STYLE EGG TART | QUICK AND EASY RECIPE

EGG TART
TART CRUST
2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1/2 CUP POWDER SUGAR
PINCH OF SALT
1 EGG YOLK
1/2 CUP COLD BUTTER

TART FILLING
1/2 CUP WHITE SUGAR
3/4 CUP HOT WATER
4 EGG YOLK LARGE
1/2 CUP EVAPORATED MILK
1 TSP VANILLA

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare in advance the tart crust. In a bowl sift all purpose flour, powder sugar and salt.
2. Add in the egg yolk and cold butter.
3. Mix all the ingredients up until it form a coarse crumbs.
4. Transfer in a cling wrap and form a log.
5. Wrap the dough tightly and freeze for 30 mins.
6. Now create the filling: dissolve sugar in a hot water then set aside to cool.
7. Combine egg yolk, evaporated milk, vanilla and the sugar syrup. Whisk until well combined.
8. Strain the mixture 3-4 times to avoid lumps.
9. Prepare the tart crust: cut the log to 6 pieces and press firmly to the muffin pan.
10. Then pour the egg yolk mixture to the prepared pan.
11. Bake in a preheated pan for 30 minutes at 170°C
12. Let it cool completely before removing into the pan.
13. Best if you can refrigerate for 2 hours before serving!
