M109 Paladin Howitzer: Quite Old for America, Mighty in Ukraine
The M109 Paladin self-propelled Howitzer, first produced in 1963 and improved upon numerous times over the past 40 years, is currently slated for a comprehensive overhaul. The mighty M109 Paladin war horses have served America for 72 years along with some dozen other countries.
The conflict in Ukraine, has once again highlighted the importance of artillery on the modern battlefield. As a response, the United States has sent several military aid package for Ukraine, which includes the provision of 18 M109A6 Paladin 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers.
