Unusual Weather Doesn't Hinder Steelhead Opener

BRULE - Under a light layering of fog, anglers battled through snow and ice before reaching their own spot of peaceful solitude on the Brule River for the steelhead opener.

"The turkeys were gobbling this morning, the eagles were singing and it was just a lot of fun just to be out and about and get out of the house. Everybody wants to put a rod in their hands as soon as they can," said Charles Billiard, of Hayward.
