“Glenn Miller On The Air” radio show (hour 2 of 3) Rick Colom, host (see song list below)
To commemorate his 1st of March 1904 birth, this three-hour 2004 radio program “Glenn Miller On The Air” was produced as a Miller Centennial tribute to the historic live broadcasts of Glenn’s civilian band between 1938 and 1942.
Originally heard nationwide via XM Satellite radio, “Glenn Miller On The Air” was written and voiced by vintage dance band authority and broadcaster Rick Colom. He guides the listener on a chronological journey from Miller’s 1938 appearances at New York City’s Paradise Restaurant to his final evening of Chesterfield broadcasts in September of 1942.
Along with some of the classic Glenn Miller hits, you’ll hear many popular tunes of the day that were never commercially recorded by the Miller band.
