Chilling Poverty In A Family In Mowlem Trans Nzoia County - I WEPT

See, poverty isn't a new thing to me, but it never ceases to amaze me by the amount of hurt it brings to people, especially kids. When you find a kid crying because of hunger something dies in the inside. You just cannot hold it. When I arrived and saw that young girl crying because her parents left in the morning and it was five o'clock and she hadn't had a meal, I was broken down. I saw her eat that raw sweet potato and my mind ran to little Steve, whom I found eating a rotten raw hoof. Oh painful! TEARS! When I entered that old woman's house and saw the nothingness, which wasn't a surprise given the shape of her house from outside, my heart was crushed a thousand times. I was so glad to be there, nevertheless, and to be able to offer them that soda and bread. It's actually nothing of much value nutritionally, but I know what it means to those kids.
