Aechmea fasciata is known as "the beginner bromeliad" because of it's low maintenance nature.
In this video I cover how bromeliads grow in the wild, and how this knowledge can help you keep your "house bromeliad" as happy as can be!

I also cover propagation. A bromeliad will only flower once, and often around the same time, it will start to produce "pups" or mini clones of itself to carry on its legacy. I explain how to go about propagating these pups so that you can have as many bromeliad babies as you please!
Unfortunately I didn't have a visual for the pups - my bromeliad is taking its sweet time to produce pups. Each bromeliad is different, just like us! I eagerly await this stage, but for now, I will enjoy the wide-banded leaves and the spiky, unique inflorescence!
As always, thank you for watching. Tell your plant friends about me!

Love,

Plantspeak
