Toe corns is a toenail infection, or a sore that develop under the toenail. When you have a infection in this area of the foot, it is very painful. In fact, it can be so bad that you almost can't stand to lie down and it hurts when you walk. This can be very inconvenient and unattractive as you will not have great looks on your feet. The toe corns can be prevented by you taking proper care of your toenails. The toenail or skin can become infected when the skin around the toes gets moist. This may happen after wearing poor footwear for a long time. The infection can occur under the edges of the toenail. When the skin gets moist, the infection can grow and over time you may develop chronic toenail fungus. The only way to take care of the infection is to get it treated. You may take medication for toenail fungus but it will take some time for the infection to completely go away. It is better to wait and remove it with emery boards or a hedge trimmer. Moist feet can lead to toenail fungus. It is best to treat these conditions to prevent complications from developing around the eyes, back of the heel, or side of the nail.

What happens if a corn is not removed?
If corns and calluses are left untreated, they will continue to spread into the skin around them, further hardening the skin. As corns and calluses deepen and grow, they will eventually crack the skin, opening up your feet for infections to pop up and spread.
Should you dig out a corn?
Corns are similar to calluses, but are sore to the touch and can make simple activities, like putting on shoes, very painful. They may develop due to excess friction, typically caused by ill-fitting footwear. If you believe a corn has formed, it's very important that you safely remove it. Apr 20, 2020
