Green Strippers vs Heat Gun to restyle a bookshelf
Since this bookshelf is all flat surfaces and there are multiple layers of paint the obvious way to go was with a heat gun. But since I have a future project that is almost all curved surfaces, I wanted to test a couple of "green" strippers out.
To be fair I don't think I have the patience for strippers. It's not that the green ones need to sit longer on the piece, either. (While it is doing its thing, I can always find another project to work on.) No, it's the extra safety gear needed and the excessive clean-up routine that is required that will always make it my last resort option. That being said, my next project will make it almost the only option so time to test them out.
Results: I was not thrilled with either but ended up liking the Citristrip® more solely because I disliked the Kwik-Strip Green messiness slightly more. :( I also think the spray stripper is the only way to go for the spindles I will be tackling in my other project.
