BORN FREE at the Oscars 1967 "Best Original - Song / Music Score" - Roger Williams

Roger Williams performed his hit song, "Born Free" at the 39th Academy Awards Ceremony on April 10, 1967, hosted by Bob Hope. "Born Free" won 2 Oscars for "Best Original Music Score" and "Best Original Song," music by John Barry; Lyrics by Don Black. "The Young Americans" chorus group joined Roger to sing the lyrics. Roger's "Born Free" reached #1 on Billboard's 'Adult Contemporary Chart' and #7 on their 'Hot 100' Chart. Born Free, was a British documentary drama film of a real-life couple who raised Elsa the Lioness, an orphaned lion cub, to adulthood, and released her into the wilderness of Kenya.
