The life of Erastus "Deaf" Smith - The Deaf Rebel of the Texas Revolution

In todays video we will be talking about the life of Erastus "Deaf" Smith. Smith was born in Duchess County New York, to Chilaib and Mary Smith on April 19, 1787. He earned his nickname due to a hearing loss in his childhood, was an American frontiersman noted for his part in the Texas Revolution and the Army of the Republic of Texas. He fought in the Grass Fight and the Battle of San Jacinto.
