"Keep it simple!" says Bill Oddie. Feeding the birds shouldn't be complicated; offer high quality, clean and nutritional bird foods and seeds and you can't go too far wrong. What's adding to the confusion is species specific foods; they're just not necessary. One or two good bird foods will do the trick and if you add mealworms and suet, too, you'll cater for just about any wild bird that would visit your garden in search of food.
