Why Small Dogs Are More Prone to Dental Disease? (Two Reasons)

While small dogs are becoming famous, especially among the city dwellers, they are also more prone to dental problems. This could be blamed on the structure of their head, mouth and jaws. Smaller dog breeds have smaller jaws and therefore less space for teeth, which causes an over-crowding of teeth. This over-crowding eventually leads to overlapping of teeth, which means it is hard to clean the plaque and tartar on the inner sides of teeth.
