An Idea Worth Pursuing | Karishma Mehta | TEDxYouth@OIS
Karishma Mehta understands the power of people’s demands within the economy. What she also realizes is that sometimes people have demands that cannot be supplied because they are intangible things - such as the need for emotional support, She created the Humans of Bombay page as a reflection of the life present in this busy, bustling city and a way for us to stop and actually communicate with each other - and appreciate the vitality of this city. This talk delves into various social aspects of todays world and is bound to leave us speechless.
Karishma Mehta is an Economics graduate from the University of Nottingham, who started the “Humans of Bombay” page. She felt a need to connect with other people in the city that she adores, and wanted to relate with these people, even if only for a minute. She started this page with the hope that its readers and viewers would communicate, empathize and sometimes go out of their way to help complete strangers.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
