Hundred Meter Pier Over Gorge, Xiyu High Speed Rail Footage

At the construction site of the Daba Mountain area in the Dazhou South to Chengkou section of the West Chongqing High speed Railway, two core control projects are advancing simultaneously in the deep mountains. On one side is a prefabricated box girder elevated structure extending towards the tunnel entrance, and on the other side is a T-shaped thin-walled ultra-high pier standing in the center of the river valley. The hanging basket equipment on the pier top is ready to carry out cantilever casting operations, surrounded by dense forests and winding mountain rivers, visually demonstrating the harsh construction environment of the karst deep mountain high-speed railway in northeastern Sichuan. The West Chongqing High speed Railway, a cross provincial high-speed railway between Sichuan and Shaanxi, passes through the folded mountainous areas of Daba Mountain. Along the line, there are ravines, broken mountains, and deep valleys. The layout of "replacing roads with bridges and connecting bridges and tunnels" is widely used to minimize the damage to native vegetation caused by large-scale excavation of mountains. The ultra-high T-shaped thin-walled piers are lightweight and have strong wind and earthquake resistance performance, suitable for narrow river valleys where multiple piers cannot be installed. The tunnels pass through the mountains to avoid continuous steep slopes, allowing the high-speed railway to achieve straight and high-speed passage. Soft soil and landslide geology are common in river valley areas. The high pier foundation adopts deep hole embedded rock pile foundation to directly reach the hard rock layer, and is reinforced with slope anchor cables to prevent collapse during the rainy season. The cantilever hanging basket is used to pour box girders in situ without the need for heavy beam transport vehicles into the mountains, greatly reducing the difficulty of transporting large building materials in deep mountains. After the opening of the line, it will open up a fast passenger transportation channel from Dazhou and Chengkou to Xi'an, ending the history of no high-speed rail in Chengkou.
