Main Cable & Deck Works Of Yanji Yangtze Bridge

The final construction of the Yanji Yangtze River Bridge in Ezhou, Hubei Province is currently underway. The symmetrical red painted portal concrete bridge tower extends directly to the high altitude of the river, and tens of thousands of parallel main cable strands are woven into a suspension force skeleton. Construction personnel carry out anti-corrosion and cable clamping high-altitude operations along the main cable maintenance channel. The double-layer wide steel box girder bridge deck has been fully paved with asphalt, and the two-way eight lane markings are clearly formed. The long elevated approach bridges on both sides are seamlessly connected to the urban road network. As the world's first double decker highway super large suspension bridge, Yanji Yangtze River Bridge breaks through the traditional layout of single decker river crossing bridges. The upper layer is used for high-speed transit traffic, while the lower layer serves urban expressways and local short distance vehicles. The single bridge double decker diversion completely solves the problem of mixed traffic congestion in river crossing. The main span kilometer level suspension design has no bridge piers in the middle of the river, fully preserving the navigation scale of the Yangtze River deepwater main channel and meeting the year-round traffic of 10000 ton cargo ships. The wind in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is strong and the temperature difference varies significantly. The main cable adopts multi-layer anti-corrosion wrapping technology to resist water vapor and salt spray erosion. The optimized aerodynamic shape of the gantry bridge tower reduces the risk of strong wind vibration. The steel box girder is prefabricated in the factory and transported to the river surface for hoisting and splicing, greatly reducing the construction period of high-altitude construction on water. After the project is put into operation, it will connect Ezhou and Huanggang, divert the long-term saturated traffic of Huangshi Yangtze River Bridge, and improve the expressway loop along the east of Hubei.
