Exercise Set for Building the Nervous System
Join Sat Dharam Kaur ND and Dr. Gabor Maté in this 5 weekend yoga-based series in Toronto for addiction recovery. This course is designed for individuals seeking to develop healthy habits and overcome addictive behaviour, for health professionals and yoga teachers who work with addiction and for certified kundalini yoga teachers who would like to teach a yoga-based addiction recovery program.
The program includes Kundalini Yoga, breathing techniques, meditation, relaxation, self-reflection, lifestyle and dietary guidelines, stress management, hydrotherapy, naturopathic detoxification and nutritional and herbal supplementation for neurotransmitter and glandular balance.
The Toronto dates are as follows in 2013:
Feb 15, 16, 17 (with Sat Dharam Kaur)
Apr 6, 7 (with Dr. Gabor Maté)
May 3, 4, 5 (with Sat Dharam Kaur)
May 31, June 1, 2 (with Sat Dharam Kaur)
June 28, 29, 30 (with Sat Dharam Kaur)

Participants can attend either attend:1) all five weekends or 2) the April 6-7 weekend with Dr. Maté as a stand-alone event. No yoga background is necessary. No addictions required.

This kriya, was originally taught by Yogi Bhajan and is from the manual "Kundalini Yoga for Youth and Joy."
In this video, Sat Dharam Kaur ND is leading and Sat Kaur is demonstrating the postures, as part of the Beyond Addiction training in Vancouver, March 25, 2012.
Practice of this kriya will help to align the spine, thereby strengthening the nervous system, and will help to release shoulder tension while developing endurance.
The mantras played during the series of exercises include Tantric Har by Simran Kaur and Chatr Chakra Vartee by Snatam Kaur. These are both available as downloads from www.spiritvoyage.com.
