Sky News host Paul Murray says the result of the governor’s race in Virginia could be a “massive indication” of how the Democrats will go in the midterms next year.

“Now James Carville, the political brains behind the Bill Clinton machine, said if they don’t win this seat by 5 per cent then that is going to be a massive indication of exactly how big they’re going to lose next year when it comes to control of the parliament,” he said.

“So latest polls from FiveThirtyEight show the Republican is just in front.”
