Fights break out between protesters and officials during protest against Israeli government

Scuffles broke out in Jerusalem on Monday (February 19) as protesters against the Israeli government marched towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's house from the parliament.

Thousands of people took part in the protest with many calling for the government to hasten on a deal to bring back Israeli hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza.

"We are stopping now and we are telling out government: 'stop now, deal now, there is no another chance, there is no another minute, there is no another second'," said protester Liron Pretz.

Almost 30,000 people have been killed in Israel's invasion of Gaza, launched in response to the devastating attack led by Hamas gunmen on Oct. 7 that killed 1,200 people and saw some 250 taken hostage.
