1960's Bench Grinder Repair & Restoration - Black & Decker

I bought this as spares or repair from a house clearance guy. He tried it out and it kept tripping the breakers in his house, looking at the state of the cable I'm not surprised!

At first I was just going to give this a quick overhaul and get it running to help me out in restorations, but I decided to go the whole hog and give it a bare bones restoration. This model is from the early 1960's, I couldn't find much info on it but found lots on the previous model which sold until 1961 and the later model which came in around 1965.

I was tempted to make some new safety guards for this, but decided against it in the end as the ultimate destiny for this machine is to be a wire wheel/buffer, the next time you see it in a vid it will have it's guards removed to enable the mods!
