Opal Specimen/Cabochon Carving Gamble Rough

Here I recently acquired some specimens from White Cliffs Australia to use as display items out and about at shows, however I thought this one required a little further investigation.

ALWAYS WERE AT MINIMUM A RESPIRATOR WHEN CUTTING ANY STONES and water is a must, not only for minimising dust, but it also helps in reducing heat in a stone to avoid damage.

The grit of what i used were as followed

Rotary bits/Sintered burrs
280 Nova Point
600 Nova Point
1,200 Nova Point
8,000 Nova Point
Felt Point with cerium oxide

Dremel 3000 with attachment handpiece. Then just a standard dremel chuck in the end for easy of adjustability.

Cut Stones Can be seen or purchased here, I also occasionally make jewellery also - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ShinySearcher
