Henryville Indiana EF4 Tornado 3-2-12 The Complete Storm Chase
** NOT FOR BROADCAST ** Please email for licensing.
My entire chase day chronicled from early morning at my home in Michigan traversing through Ohio, Kentucky, and ending in Indiana where I witnessed one of the most destructive tornadoes in recent memory. This beast was rated an EF4 and was on the ground for 49 miles. My heart goes out to the lives lost and the families affected by this. It was my first visualized tornado and seeing the damage first hand changed me forever. I'm dedicated to storm spotting and reporting so that we can give as much advance notice as possible. Support your local Red Cross and SKYWARN spotting programs.
**Producer Note** I was a noob chaser when this was filmed 10 years ago. I admittedly lacked the proper cam mounts in the car which isn't just for image stability but also for safety sake. I also lacked a tripod which caused the shakiness during the live footage so it could have certainly have been better, BUT it was raw and real in every aspect which looking back, I do not regret at all. Not sorry. I learned from this and so should you. If you want to comment negatively about that aspect, well thanks for stating the obvious. It doesn't really add to the conversation so those comments will be deleted. I'm all about supporting each other in the chasing/spotter community. The world could use a little less negativity. Eyes to the sky my friends.
