Today I'm covering one of my favorite topics on this channel - comparing cities!
This time I'm comparing Dubai, UAE, with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Which city is better? Which one should you move to? What are the prices like, housing, transportation? What about visas and taxes? This and much more is covered in today's video.

First, let's discuss the weather. How's the weather in Dubai? It's HOT and VERY HOT depending on the season. It can get as hot as 50 degrees, and summers are unbearable. They have to close beach clubs such as Nikkie Beach during the summer!
So in this equation, Kuala Lumpur gets points, because the weather is constant all year round and quite pleasant. In my opinion, Kuala Lumpur has perfect weather!

What about nature? Besides the hot weather, this is one of the complaints I hear the most from people when they talk about Dubai. Dubai is in the middle of the desert, so as you can imagine there will not be many green spaces. What's beautiful is certainly the desert - it's surreal and of course lovely sea and beaches.
Kuala Lumpur is lush and green, it is not on the sea, but you are not too far away from beautiful Malaysian resorts. In this part of the world, you can also experience jungle and see wild animals.

What about the traffic? It's just way worse in KL than in Dubai. Traffic in Dubai is quite decent actually. There is a sky train, Uber, and taxis. The cost of gas is quite low in Dubai so it pays off to buy a car.

How is lifestyle in these cities? Let me tell you, both Dubai and Kuala Lumpur are extremely convenient cities! Everything works on a button and you can order almost anything. Dubai is also more 24/7 city and offers more in terms of entertainment.
You can enjoy the underwater restaurant in the Atlantis, amazing water parks, the biggest mall in the world The Dubai mall, beautiful views from many lovely sky bars and restaurants such as Ce la Vie in the Address Downtown. There are numerous beach clubs and nightclubs. Some of the most famous beach clubs would be Drift in One and Only, and Nikkie Beach.
You can go on a desert safari, enjoy the view from the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa, stay in the only 7-star hotel in the world Burj Al Arab, ride the longest zipline in the world, enjoy any cuisine imaginable, and much much more. There is just so much to do in Dubai.
I've been there for 2 and a half months and still can't say that I did everything that I wanted!

Kuala Lumpur is a more calm city. I wasn't really impressed with the nightclubs there, but it offers lots of restaurants and sky bars with breathtaking views. However, in this equation, Dubai certainly wins.

Now we come to the biggest difference between these two cities - the costs!
It's simply incomparable! Kuala Lumpur is one of the best value cities in the world, what you get for the money is just insane. You can dine in the fanciest restaurants and stay in the most luxurious hotels such as Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, and Mandarin Oriental and not pay a fortune.
Services, food, accommodation, and entertainment cost way less in Kuala Lumpur than in Dubai.

Dubai is just crazy expensive! They have to import every single thing. Also, the prices of clothing such as Zara and Mango are insanely more expensive than in Europe. The same goes for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Dior. Even though it offers every brand imaginable, it's simply not a good deal to shop in Dubai.

Accommodation is also quite expensive in Dubai. Residences in the Address Sky View hotel you'll be paying around 4-5000 USD per month. In Kuala Lumpur, you'd be paying 1500-2000 USD for something comparable.

What about taxes? This is what would certainly interest most of our viewers.
Dubai, UAE is simply ZERO tax place! It hardly gets better than that.
Malaysia is not zero tax country, but there are ways to reduce your taxes significantly. You can pay as low as 3% in Malaysia.

Which country is easier to immigrate to? UAE is certainly much easier to relocate to and set up a residency. Visa process is very simple, fast, and straightforward.
