Ep. 24: Heading Into Spring with My AMAZING Deer Friends! 2019

It is always exciting heading into springtime! My deer friends are looking forward to eating fresh, green foliage, and losing those thick winter coats. Even when temps get up above 40, they get quite warm right now. When a deer gets very warm, they emit an odor like fine Corinthian leather....really! (Well......kind of.....lol.) They are 5-7 weeks away from giving birth to the new fawns. Who will have what this year? I'll have my camera ready! :-)))
I am very careful about feeding my deer so they do not become reliant on me as their primary food source. I only give them snacks. They spend their days in the fields and woods foraging for their natural food sources.
As far as "humanizing the deer" , my deer do not see me as a person. They see me as some nice animal to them. If another person comes walking down the road, or tries to come close to my yard, they instantly run! It lets me know they won't walk up to other people, especially a hunter. I love that they trust me this way!
