New 2025 Toyota 4Runner Iconic Japanese Off-Roader SUV

the new 4Runner has lost its naturally aspirated V6 engine. Under the hood there is a 2.4-liter i-Force petrol turbo-four (282 hp, 430 Nm) and an uncontested eight-speed automatic transmission, although a six-speed manual transmission is also available for the truck. The alternative is the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, in which that 2.4 turbo engine is complemented by a 49 hp electric motor built into an eight-speed automatic transmission. Peak output of the system is 331 hp. and 630 Nm. Due to the low battery capacity (1.87 kWh), recharging is not provided, but the hybrid SUV is capable of towing trailers weighing up to 2,721 kg.

The 4Runner comes with part time four wheel drive as well as full time four wheel drive depending on the variant. However all 4wd models do come with active traction control and a limited slip differential. There is also crawl control, an electronic rear locking differential on some models, Multi-Terrain-Select and stabilizer disconnect as well. The TRD Off Road models come with Bilstein suspension while the Trailhunter variants come with Old Man Emu suspension with a lift. The most hard core off road model, the TRD Pro comes with FOX suspension. There is a set of four auxillary switches to add accessories to as well.

Debajo del capó se esconde un motor de gasolina i-Force turbo de cuatro cilindros y 2,4 litros (282 CV, 430 Nm) y una indiscutible transmisión automática de ocho velocidades, aunque también está disponible una transmisión manual de seis velocidades para el camión. La alternativa es el sistema de propulsión híbrido i-Force Max, en el que ese motor 2.4 turbo se complementa con un motor eléctrico de 49 CV integrado en una transmisión automática de ocho velocidades. La potencia máxima del sistema es de 331 CV. y 630 Nm. Debido a la baja capacidad de la batería (1,87 kWh), no se permite recargar, pero el SUV híbrido es capaz de arrastrar remolques que pesan hasta 2.721 kg.

La 4Runner viene con tracción en las cuatro ruedas a tiempo parcial y con tracción en las cuatro ruedas a tiempo completo, según la variante. Sin embargo, todos los modelos 4x4 vienen con control de tracción activo y diferencial de deslizamiento limitado.
