Enjoy breathtaking mountain views along the world-famous Appalachian Trail on this hike to a picturesque stone outcrop known as Charlie's Bunion. Charlies Bunion is one of the best hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The hike begins from the large parking area at Newfound Gap. You travel east on the Appalachian Trail toward Charlie's Bunion. I would highly suggest hiking to Jumpoff, a spur trail, where you see Charlie's Bunion from above along with view of Douglas Lake. After returning from the Jumpoff spur you pass an AT shelter called the Icewater Spring shelter. Continue to Charlie's Bunion for panoramic views including a great view of Mount LeConte.
