It’s a little hard to do Cliffs of a technique analysis, so let me summarize the takeaways instead:

— Find what works for you
— Work the muscle not the movement

Together, these two mean that you’ve got to find the right cues and right positions for your body in order to hit the muscles you’re targeting and NOT unconsciously rely on other groups to pick up any slack. Of course, you’re not entirely going to be able to take the posterior chain out of the squat, but you can definitely shift a significant amount of emphasis onto the quads simply by altering your foot and bar positions, cues, and programming.
