By the time Ray Franz faced resigning from the Watchtower Governing Body, he had realized that "the truth" was not true. Jehovah's Witnesses preach a "good news" which is contrary to the Gospel of the New Testament. Jerry Gladson, ex-Adventist theologian, faced a parallel dilemma in the SDA. When it comes to "truth", cults and other aberrant Christian groups will choose unity every time. That which threatens the traditions of the group, the uniformity which passes for unity, will be censored -- or even severed.
