‘We don’t give money to protect David Beckham’s children. Why should we pay for Harry and Meghan’s?’

Norman Baker has attacked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their interview with Oprah Winfrey, questioning why the taxpayer should “pay to protect somebody who’s not an active member of the Royal Family.”

Speaking to talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer, the royal author and former MP responded to Harry being cut off financially after he quit his royal duties: "We don't give public money to protect David Beckham's children, so why should we pay money to protect somebody who's not an active member of the Royal Family?"
