To send an iMessage on your iphone, the frist thing you should make sure is that the iMessage feature is enabled on your phone. to verify this, go to Settings, scroll down to messages, then make sure the imessage option is enabled.

Now, in order to send a new message, on your iOS device, iphone or ipad, go to the Message app and compose a new message, add someone from your contact list and start typing the message. You can attached pictures, stickers, music, etc to the message.
