3 Ways to Make New Foster Children Feel Like They Belong

As foster parents, we don't have anything to do with why a child came into care. We can't change the fact that they are in foster care—but we can do some things to try to help them feel a little less out of place in a new home. Here are three things we have found helpful over the years in helping a child who is new to our home feel a sense of belonging right away. While nothing can take away the trauma and discomfort of being in foster care, these tips can help a bit!
