Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe Hotel Tour

In this episode we jump ship for a land vacation at Barceló Maya Palace Deluxe, part of the enormous 5-resort complex that makes up the Barceló Maya Resort in beautiful Riviera Maya. Let’s get started with a look at the enormous lobby of this all-inclusive beach hotel. Here’s a peek at the front desk, and the friendly staff. There’s no shortage of comfortable seating here, and this is a great place to meet up with friends. There’s a terrific bar across from the front desk, while the center stairs lead to a handful of shops. Here’s a closer look at the bar. Another great place to meet up with friends, or catch a game on the flat screen. There’re also plenty of comfy places to relax just outside the lobby. Subscribers to our gear channel may recognize this location from our jewelry roll episode. Now lets take a quick look around the grounds. It can get crowded out here, but we never had a problem finding lounge chairs. There are some fun statues along the walkway that connects all 5 resorts. This was my son’s favorite. Barceló seems particularly well suited for weddings. There are some beautiful locations including this lovely gazebo. It’s tough to beat an ocean sunset as a wedding backdrop. We stayed here in the Michoacán building, so a lot of what we are showing is from this side of the resort. Now let’s get a look at the pools. This place is all about pools, seriously, so many pools! Which makes it even more tragic that they were positively freezing during our stay. And really I think that’s our only complaint. I’m not sure why they were so cold, and we haven’t seen other review mention this. So hopefully it was just bad timing for us. Oh, and by the way, these bubbling pools at the adult pool and elsewhere are not hot tubs. Lot’s of pools here, but not hot tubs. This little area looked like a terrific spot for jumping, but no. Lifeguards were quick to shoo away anyone with that idea. But they do have awesome swim up bars, lots of fountains and tons of places to relax both in and out of the pool. Of course they didn’t forget about the kids here. There are tons of places for the little ones including this fantastic wet wonderland. Barcy Kids club is also extremely popular with the little ones. There are other outdoor games like basketball, ping-pong to name just a few. There’s a convenient bus to shuttle you from resort to resort if you are looking for adventure further away from your room. And there’s plenty of adventure to be found. From diving to jet skis and kayaks, there’s a ton of stuff for water sports enthusiasts at the watersports center just down the beach. Across from the beach shop is the Dolphinaris, so you can chill, or swim, with dolphins. If you’re more into the spa scene, they’ve got you covered there too. Just up the road from Dolphinaris and the spa you’ll find the popular Surf Ride and Pirates Island Water Park. Both are available for additional fees, and while we wanted to check it out first hand, there were just too many other things to do to justify the additional expense. Mini golf is a little out of the way, but it’s there if you want it. And my personal favorite – Shopping! But I wouldn’t expect to find a many deals at the Maya Mall and the adjacent marketplace. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty to see and do at this mall, including a terrific bowling alley, but the prices seem geared toward tourists
