What We Dislike about the Dyson V11 - Review / Tests / Comparisons

In this Dyson V11 review we discuss weight, cleaning performance on hard floors, battery recharge time, and a host of other vacuum characteristics and features. See it on Amazon: https://amzn.to/39YvKhE

In this video we start by comparing the weight of the V11 to the weight of the V10, the V8, the V7, and the V6. We also weigh the handheld components of each Dyson stick vac and discuss them. We conclude that when using the V11 as a stick vacuum it feels (and is) heavier than all previous Dyson stick vacs but is still not too heavy. When using the handheld component however, we show that it can feel heavy and indeed could be a challenge to use for extended periods.

Cleaning performance using the High Torque cleaner head on a tile surface in both ECO and AUTO power modes is shown. In these power modes (and on a bare floor) the unit does tend to cause some scattering of debris. We also indicate that the High Torque cleaner head is the only cleaner head that comes with the Torque Drive and Animal V11 models (and that presently these are the only models available in the USA).

We show the Soft Roller cleaner head working on a tile surface in ECO mode (the lowest power mode) and indicate that it really is the best choice for bare floor cleaning, but it doesn’t come with the two models available in the US at this time. You can buy it separately however.

We discuss the recharge time of the V8, the V10, and the V11. The V8 recharge time is 5 hours and Dyson managed to reduce it to 3.5 hours for the V10. We felt this was moving in the right direction, however the V11 recharge time is 4.5 hours.

Both V11 models include a host of tools however there is no bag or anything to place them in. A bag is hardly a necessity but it would have been a “nice to have”. We often misplace tools when we don’t have a designated storage place.

Owners have complained about two issues related to all previous Dyson stick vacuums. These issues are the inability to swap out the battery and the need to constantly hold the trigger down to operate the vacuum. The V11 continues in this tradition and these two items were not addressed in the V11.

Finally, the V11 is a costly machine and there is no model that is more reasonably priced. The V10 and the V7 included a Motorhead model with was less expensive but no such V11 model is available at this time. I hope you enjoyed this Dyson V11 review with our tests and comparisons to other Dyson cordless vacuums.

I would also like to point out that I make every effort to be unbiased in my videos. If there is something about a product I do not like - I will let you know!
