India reached a grim milestone on April 28, 2021, as its Covid-19 death toll passed 200,000. On the same day, the country also saw a new global record of more than 360,000 new daily infections. Covid-19 patients were seen waiting for oxygen outside temples and hospitals across the country, amid shortages in hospital beds and oxygen supplies.
