Hidden Japan Discovery: Inside Japan’s Hidden Metropolis at Night

Tokyo often gets the attention, but cities around it reveal a very different side of urban Japan at night.

In Chiba, a massive suspended monorail moves directly above crowded shopping streets, bars, restaurants, and everyday nightlife.
People flow below while trains glide overhead, creating a strange layered cityscape rarely seen outside Japan.

This walk explores the atmosphere beneath those structures — the glow of the streets, the dense urban design, and the unusual feeling of moving through a city built on multiple levels.

Not futuristic.

Just everyday life in Japan.
