Tonight, I visited a familiar local izakaya in Chiba with a friend I’ve known for years.

We started drinking at 5 PM and stayed at the same izakaya for five straight hours while eating kushikatsu, seafood, and classic Japanese drinking food.

As the night went on, the restaurant slowly filled with people, drinks kept coming, and conversations drifted from memories of Osaka to stories about everyday life in Japan.

After leaving the izakaya, we continued bar hopping through the night until morning, ending with ramen after 5 AM.

This video captures a real Japanese nightlife experience away from tourist areas — the atmosphere of a local neighborhood, long nights with old friends, and the culture of drinking until the first train starts running again.
