Helena Kennedy QC on changing the justice system, her working class roots and debating what's right
Baroness Helena Kennedy is one of Britain's foremost human rights lawyers. She's played a key role in many prominent inquiries including the Brighton Bombing trial, the bombing of the Israeli Embassy and fought the world's first case about transgender rights at the European Court of Justice. Her latest book is 'Eve Was Shamed: How British Justice is Failing Women', a follow-up to the seminal 'Eve Was Framed'. She talks to Krishnan about how the justice system needs to change, how her working class Glaswegian roots have shaped her and why, as a Labour peer, she became one of their biggest critics.
