First 100 Years: Lady Arden DBE Biography

Lady Arden joined the Supreme Court as its third female judge on 1st October 2018 and two days later history was made when the Court sat with a female majority for the first time.

In 1993, Mary Arden was the first woman appointed to the Chancery Division of the High Court. She then went on to become a Court of Appeal judge in 2000 until her appointment to the Supreme Court.

First 100 Years is a ground-breaking project, building the only digital platform of stories, videos and artefacts dedicated to the journey of women in law.
