Bobbin Tension: Righty Tighty, Lefty Lucy
Thor demonstrates how to adjust most front loading bobbin cases to get the correct sewing tension. Turning the screw to the right increases (tightens) the tension. Turning the screw to the left decreases (loosens) the tension. Hold up the bobbin case by just the thread, the bobbin case shouldn’t move. Give a little jerk on the thread and if the bobbin case slides down slightly, (less than an inch) then the tension if perfect. Some bobbin cases have a 'finger' that sticks out and has a small hole in it. This is threaded when you want a little more tension say for a buttonhole, a satin stitch or embroidery.
