Survival: Stuart Pimm - Featured Clip
Human actions are driving species to extinction at one thousand times the natural, background rate of extinction. To prevent species extinctions, we need to understand where extinctions are concentrated, what processes drive extinctions there, and what practical actions we can take in those places to prevent them. Stuart Pimm presents possible solutions, including a cost-effective solution developed by SavingSpecies that funds local conservation groups restoring degraded habitats to reconnect forest fragments.
This talk is part of the Survival symposium, a fascinating series of talks focusing on evolution and the challenges of building a better, safer and more survivable future.
