Global protest erupts after Israel seizes Gaza aid flotilla

Israeli forces have intercepted the Global Sumud flotilla, a group of more than 40 civilian boats carrying food, medicine and over 500 activists to Gaza. More than 450 people, including parliamentarians and Greta Thunberg, were detained in the raid.

The action has triggered global protest, with thousands rallying in Rome, London, Istanbul, Berlin and other cities. Demonstrators demanded the release of detainees and condemned Israel’s blockade of Gaza, as governments worldwide face pressure to respond.
